Printing Industry Pension Fund for SATU Members

Funeral Benefits (Member, Spouse, Child)
Financial support for funeral expenses. TFS handles claims and payment
administration.
Who is covered:
• Union Member, spouse (customary/common-law), dependent children,
certain pensioners
Benefit amounts:
• Member: R25 000
• Spouse: R25 000
• Child 14 to (20/25 Years):R25 000
• Child (6 to 13):R12 500
• CHILD Under 6(Including stillborn babies) :R6250
Requirements: Notify fund within 6 months, submit documents (death certificate, IDs,
birth/marriage proof, banking info). Affidavits may be accepted.
It must be noted that if the member did not complete a nomination or if the
nomination is invalid, KGA will pay the Death Benefit to the member’s estate.
Sickness, Maternity & Health Benefits
Support if you cannot work due to illness or pregnancy. TFS manages verification
and payments.
Sickness:
• Employer sick pay: First 3 weeks at 75% of wage
• EBF: R200/week (first 2 weeks), R150/week (next 21 weeks)
• Medical proof required
Accumulated Sick Leave:
• Up to 60 days, employer pays full salary
• Employer can claim 50% refund from Fund
Maternity:
• Up to 18 weeks, R250/week if employer does not pay
• Contributions must be current; notification required
Health Maintenance:
For TB, drug/alcohol dependency, other serious illnesses approved by Trustees
Up to 26 weeks, R378/week
Requires compliance with treatment
Unemployment & Redundancy Benefits
Financial assistance if you lose your job. TFS administers these claims.
Unemployment:
• Up to 26 weeks, R250/week
• Must be seeking work, contributions up to date, not dismissed for
misconduct
Redundancy:
• Assistance for restructuring, technology changes, or reduced earning
capacity
• May include weekly allowance or reskilling support
• Case-by-case approval
Bursary Benefits for Children
Support for members’ children’s education. TFS manages bursary applications and
payments.
• R5,000/year, paid directly to the institution
• Maximum 25 bursaries/year
• Child under 25, full-time student, academic average ≥65%
• Applications close 31 January yearly
